COMEDIAN Russell Kane will be performing in a County Durham town later this year in preparation for a national tour.

Mr Kane, host of BBC Three’s Live At The Electric, will be doing a stand up show at the Witham Hall in Barnard Castle Saturday, June 7, for Funny Way To Be Comedy Club.

Peter Dixon from the club said: “We are delighted to have Russell Kane perform for us as he prepares for his next show. “I was thrilled when Russell got in touch himself having heard good things about our previous shows.

“The evening is going to be an intimate experience and a great chance for his fans in the North East to see him in a much smaller venue than he usually performs in.”

Winner of the Edinburgh Comedy Award in 2010 and the Barry Award the following year, Mr Kane has firmly established himself as one the top comics and is a regular on a number of TV and radio panel shows.

Tickets for Russell Kane go on general sale at 9am on Saturday (January 18) from funnywaytobe.com, priced £15.

Other comedians coming to the Witham include Jenny Éclair, the Reduced Shakespeare Company performing the Bible, Matt Richardson, Jo Caulfield and Mike Wozniak.

All Funny Way To Be shows start at 8pm with doors opening at 7.30pm.
