Road fears: Concerns have been raised over the “dreadful and dangerous” condition of roads in Norton, near Malton, by town and district councillor Di Keal. She said the main issues were potholes and cracks, particularly in Church Street.
Health award: Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust is to be presented with a Highly Commended Award by Dr Foster Intelligence for making significant improvements in weekend performance over the last year.
Volunteers call: Malton and Norton Tidy Group, which currently has about a dozen volunteers, is trying to get more people involved. The group’s next meeting is on February 2 in St Nicholas Street car park, Norton, at 10am, and anyone interested in getting involved is invited to go along.
New store: A new Lidl store has opened in Pickering, on the edge of the North York Moors. The move has created 16 full and part-time jobs.
