A PUBLIC meeting has been organised to discuss concerns about elderly care provision in the Yorkshire Dales.
The event, at The Wensleydale School, in Leyburn, on Wednesday, January 22, at 6.30pm, is being hosted by new pressure group, the Friends of Brentwood Lodge, which was formed by Middleham resident Andy Brook.
Mr Brook claims that the closure of the home in Leyburn and its replacement with an extra care scheme in the town's Harmby Road will not provide people suffering from dementia with the support they need.
He said: "We've been overwhelmed by the support the campaign has received.
"The feeling is that the people who matter, the people of Leyburn and the users of this service, have not been listened to."
Officials from North Yorkshire County Council and Richmondshire District Council have been invited.
