A WOMAN could face jail after admitting fraudulently claiming benefits.

Caroline Foster admitted making false representations in respect of income support claims and housing and council tax benefit she received from Redcar and Cleveland Council.

The 49-year-old did not declare that by being married she was living in the same household as her husband.

She pleaded guilty to three charges of making a false representation between September 17, 2004, and April 4, 2006, and the case was adjourned at Teesside Crown Court for a pre-sentence report.

Judge Peter Bowers bailed Foster, of Keir Hardie Crescent, South Bank, Middlesbrough, until February 7.

He told her: “You can have bail, but I am making no promises.”
