HOST families are being sought to offer a temporary home to children affected by the Chernobyl nuclear disaster.

The Chernobyl Children’s Life Line charity offers youngsters from Belarus the chance to visit the United Kingdom and stay with a family.

A month away from the radiation, eating nourishing food, and breathing clean air has been proved to significantly increase life expectancy of the children.

During their visit, children and host families participate in a packed programme of activities.

The Teesdale-Richmond link of the Chernobyl Children’s Life Line charity is looking for families to host children for two weeks during their 2014 visit, which lasts for a month from July 5 to August 2.

The charity raises money to cover the costs of each child’s visit.
