HAMBLETON residents can have their Christmas trees collected for recycling next week.

There will be a special green bin collection on the week commencing Monday, January 13, and trees will be collected as long as they are inside the bin with the lid closed.

Residents on black sack collection should put the trees at their normal collection point.

Alternatively trees can be taken to the household waste recycling centres at Sandholme Lane, Sowerby; Yafforth Road, Northallerton; Leeming Bar Industrial Estate; Stokesley Industrial Estate and Tholthorpe for composting. The sites are open from 8.30am until 4pm every day apart from Wednesdays.

Alternate green bin collections restart week commencing February 24.

Residents are also reminded that Christmas cards can also be placed in their blue bags for collection but asked not to put brown cardboard in the bag as the mill where the materials are recycled are unable to recycle it.
