THANKS to a generous donation, a North-East hospital can buy precision instruments for eye operations.
Darlington Rotary Club and The Friends of Darlington Memorial Hospital raised £4,600 to buy two sets of surgical instruments for Darlington Memorial Hospital.
The donation came after ophthalmology consultant Mr Narayanan Krishnamoothy said the instruments – used to restore tear drainage and in eye-lid surgery - would significantly improve the service and number of patients seen.
Rotary President Ken Young attended the hospital recently where he was thanked by charge nurse Paul Robson and Mr Krishnamoothy.
