A POLICE manhunt is still under-way after a series of burglaries and thefts in and around York.

North Yorkshire Police are looking to trace 26-year-old Jordan Both in connection with the crimes and have asked anybody who sees him or knows where he is to contact officers.

Both also has links to Leeds and Detective Inspector Alan Rowan of York CID said: "We have carried out extensive enquiries over a number of weeks and these searches will continue until we have found him."

Anybody who knows where Both is should phone York CID on 101, or contact the force control room on the same number.

ENGLISH CATHEDRALS: York author Murray Naylor has launched his latest book, England’s Cathedrals by Train, looking at the history and architecture of Anglican cathedrals.

The book is a study of 33 English cathedrals and the railway systems that allow them to be reached, and the author aims to encourage others to enjoy the same journeys he has undertaken.

The book also includes a chapter on York, mentioning both the National Railway Museum and York Minster.

CAR SMASH: A woman has been taken to hospital this morning after a crash on a Ryedale road.

The collision, involving a Volvo and a Daihatsu, happened on the A169 between Malton and Pickering, close to the junction with Howe Road, at about 9.10am, with police, fire crews and paramedics called to the scene.

A man and a woman, who were in separate cars, were treated at the scene and the woman was taken to hospital, but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. The road has now been cleared.
