POLICE are hunting Christmas thieves who targeted a busy shopping centre to steal designer clothing.

They have released a CCTV image of the two suspects they want to speak to after the theft at the Hugo Boss store in York’s McArthurGlen designer outlet.

It happened at around 1.30pm on December 22 when the pair are believed to have entered the shop before placing a number of jumpers, worth £350, into bags and leaving the store without paying for them.

They were described as a woman in her late forties or early fifties, with a slim build and shoulder length blonde hair, and a man of around the same age, with grey hair and a large build.

PC Tony Barnes said: “If you recognise either of the people caught on camera I urge you to contact the police straight away.

“I am also keen to speak to the people themselves. If there has been some confusion and they are not responsible for the theft, I urge them to get in touch so that I can eliminate them from my enquires.

Contact York police on 101, select option two and ask for Tony Barnes. Alternatively, information can be emailed to tony.barnes@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800-555-111.
