MEMBERS of a heart health group have raised funds for Darlington Memorial Hospital by swapping Christmas cards for donations.
The Darlington Memorial Hospital Heartbeat Group, which has about 200 members, is a support group for people who have suffered from different forms of cardiac problems.
Members attend weekly exercise sessions to help them with their recovery.
To raise funds for the hospital’s children’s ward, members decided not to post Christmas cards and instead held a collection, raising £210.
Group organisers Winn Ward and Lewis Stockill presented the cheque to ward manager Sister Jane Auld and staff nurse Rachael Baty.
