A CHURCH choir was on hand to support a monthly market event that raises funds for community projects.
St Peter’s Church Choir added to the festive atmosphere at the Croft Community Market, held for the first time at The Croft Hotel, near Darlington.
The community market was formed in March, using only local suppliers, with proceeds going to support small projects in Croft and the surrounding villages.
Bev Partridge, a member of the committee that organises the market, said the special Christmas market had been a great success.
She added: “We usually hold it in the village hall but it was suggested that to make it a bit more special that we should have the Christmas event in the hotel.
“There are a couple of local people in the choir and we asked if they would like to come and perform – they were fabulous.”
