POLICE have identified three people who died in a car crash near Malton in November.

Konrad Bartczak, 18, the front seat passenger, his mother Iwona Bartczak, 40, the driver, and Rysard Orlowski, 40, the rear seat passenger, all from Hull, were killed while travelling along the B1248 between Wetwang and Wharram le Street on November 27.

The three people were pronounced dead at the scene after the Ford Focus they were in collided with a white Citroen van.

The inquest into their deaths was opened and adjourned on Friday, December 20.

The 30-year-old man who was a passenger in the Ford Focus and taken Hull Royal Infirmary with serious injuries, remains in hospital and is recovering.

The 37-year-old man who was also passenger in the Ford Focus and seriously injured, has since been discharged from Hull Royal Infirmary.

The driver of the Citroen van, a 48-year-old man from Pickering who was taken to York District Hospital, was discharged from hospital shortly after the collision.
