AN annual Christmas concert helped to raise more than £700 for a national cancer charity and a Darlington church.

The 14th annual Darlington Youth Brass Band Christmas Concert took place on Saturday, December 7 at Grange Road Baptist Church, in Darlington.

The event raised £741.86 for both Marie Curie Cancer Care and the outreach work of Grange Road Baptist Church, and organisers wish to thank all those who attended and donated money on the night.

Isobel Wilkinson, who helped organise the event, said: “Thanks to all who make these events so successful.

“The talent and enthusiasm of the young musicians under the leadership of their musical director Stephen Boyd was greatly appreciated.”
