RYEDALE residents will have the opportunity to find out about an initiative to reduce oil bills this week.
An oil-buying co-ordinator will be at St Benedict Hall, Ampleforth on Thursday, December 19, to talk to Ampleforth residents between 10am and 12pm.
The scheme is part of the Yorkshire Energy Partnership’s efforts to save energy and money. Supported by councils including Ryedale District Council and Scarborough Borough Council, the initiative can save people up to ten per cent on heating fuel bills.
Oil partnerships allow residents to bulk buy heating oil collectively. Creating fuel-buying partnerships helps secure cheaper deals, aided by the fact that fuel tankers need to make less individual trips to a village.
