MEMBERS of Catterick Young Farmers Club have raised at least £2,500 at an annual charity dinner dance.
The ball was held at the George Hotel in Piercebridge in aid of Yorkshire Cancer Research and club funds, and secretary Emma Walton said all 276 guests had a fantastic evening.
She said: “There was a nice mix of young and old as we had a lot of parents and advisory members there.
“The raffle was very popular because we had some excellent prizes such as a Barbour jacket and bottles of beer donated by Northern Farmer, and raised £1,270 from that alone.
“We also had an auction, led by Emma Copeland from Darlington Auction Mart, of farm-related prizes.
“We don’t have an exact total yet of how much has been raised but it is at least £2,500.”
