TWO under-11 football teams from Catterick Garrison Football Centre, the Sharks and the Tigers, have received a new strip, provided and sponsored by ABF The Soldiers’ Charity.

The strip was formally presented to the teams by Major Barney Barnbrook, regional director, and Jim Duffy, liaison officer, of ABF The Soldiers’ Charity, at their training session at the Infantry Training Centre, Catterick.

Team coach Graham Evans said: “Both coaches and players are truly grateful for the generosity shown by The Soldiers’ Charity who funded this strip.

“The excitement that comes from wearing a brand new strip is shown on the faces of the players every week, particularly as most of them have family connections with the Army.”

Major Barnbrook said: “For us, this is a great way both to support the Army family within Catterick Garrison and promote The Soldiers’ Charity wherever the Sharks and Tigers are playing.”
