Durham Police warn residents against storing keys near windows and doors
POLICE are warning residents not to leave any keys close to their doors after several burglaries in the Darlington area.
In the last month several households have had their cars stolen by burglars apparently using tools that can fit through letterboxes and reach keys hanging close to the door.
Police are urging residents to be vigilant about such burglaries and ensure they do not leave any keys near windows and doors, even if they are locked.
