AN innovative approach to help people conquer their addictions to drugs and alcohol has proved a success after six people completed their course.

The Saltburn Wellbeing Centre, working in collaboration with the Lifeline Project, has helped them to learn new skills to deal with their issues surrounding their addictions.

Kathryn Luczakiewicz, who runs the centre in Saltburn, said: “It has been a pilot project that has proved to be really successful with the six people who completed the course.

“They learnt new skills, from looking after their own wellbeing to learning about emotional resilience, as well as discovery about other agencies that can help them out.

“The people who took part in the pilot were referred to us by the Lifeline Project in Redcar and we hope to be able to run another course with more people and help them to address their addictions.

“All the people who completed the course have got something out of it and they have really engaged with it.”
