A TOWN hall is to host a Christmas Day dinner for anyone struggling with loneliness or the cost of food.
On December 25, Northallerton Town Hall will be the venue for the United 4 Christmas meal. Life Encounters, a ministry-based, social needs organisation, which has organised the event, will help provide a three-course meal.
It will also provide some groceries donated by the food bank Food Share for the occasion.
Denver Thompson, founder of Life Encounters, said it is the second year in a row they have provided a Christmas meal at the town hall and had worked with the Salvation Army, Churches Together and Northallerton Town Council on the initiative.
Mr Thompson said: “It just gives something to people who can’t afford a meal this year. There are a lot of people struggling.”
The meal will take place between 12pm and 2.30pm at Northallerton Town Hall, situated at the top of the High Street.
To book a place at the meal, call; 07880 334822 or 07731 455572.
Anyone who wants to volunteer, or make a financial donation, can email Denver Thompson at: denver.lifeencounter@gmail.com for more details.
