AN ANIMAL charity is appealing for help to make Christmas special for homeless and abandoned pets in its care.

Blue Cross in Thirsk is appealing for funds to give the animals staying at the centre an treat or toy, and has also launched an Amazon gift list to help get all the pets a Christmas gift.

Emma Pannell, centre manager at Thirsk, said: “Every year, we care for hundreds of pets in crisis and this Christmas we wanted to give all the animals a little bit extra.

“We hope our supporters will help us with a donation or special gift from the wish list which has items for all budgets. Just a few pence will really make a difference to homeless pets at Christmas.”

To make a donation contact Blue Cross in Thirsk on 0300-777-1540, thirsk@bluecross.org.uk or visit the centre in Station Road, Topcliffe.
