Two boys injured after speeding driver flipped car in Darlington

Darlington and Stockton Times: Darlington Magistrates Court Darlington Magistrates Court

TWO children were injured when a speeding driver flipped his car over, a court heard today (Thursday December 12).

Luke Taddeo, 32, was witnessed driving too fast along Newton Lane in Darlington before he lost control of his car at a junction, causing it to flip over and land on its side on Thursday June 20.

Two boys – aged ten and 12 – were in the vehicle at the time and suffered cuts and bruising as a result of the accident.

Taddeo – from Ilkeston - appeared before Darlington Magistrates Court to plead guilty to one count of driving without due care and attention and another of driving without a licence.

Representing himself, he told magistrates that he had been unaware that he was driving unlicensed as had not been informed that his licence had been revoked due to a previous accident.

He said the accident had occurred because he was unfamiliar with the road and added that he had removed the children to safety following the incident.

Magistrates fined Taddeo £163, ordered him to pay costs of £105 and endorsed his licence with six penalty points.

Unfamiliar with the road, yet drives fast with kids in the car.
Didn't know he was unlicensed?
After a PREVIOUS ACCIDENT!

C'mon judge. This guy needs a real punishment.

Anyone can bump a car or have accidents, but you don't speed by 'accident'.

I actually came around the corner and almost drove into his car in the aftermath of this incident. If it were not for two horse riders waving to indicate the danger i probably would have. The car was on its side facing oncoming traffic on a blind bend and the pillock who had been driving was sitting at the side of the road crying and doing nothing to warn other road users of the danger. Silly little man.
