AN elderly woman was seriously hurt when she was hit by another pensioner on a bicycle.
The accident happened at around 11.45am on Tuesday, December10, on North Street, just outside Ripon’s police station.
A 68-year-old man was riding towards the Clock Tower when he collided with an 84-year-old woman who was crossing the road from the opposite side to the police station.
She suffered serious injuries and was taken to Harrogate District Hospital, where she remains in a comfortable condition. The rider of the bicycle was not injured. Both were local people.
Witnesses are asked to call North Yorkshire Police on 101, select option two and ask for Rob Roberts. Alternatively, information can be emailed to rob.roberts@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk.
