A POLICE commissioner has confirmed the appointment of his finance chief.

Ron Hogg, Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC) for County Durham and Darlington, has named Gary Ridley to be his chief finance officer.

The appointment was confirmed by a Police and Crime Panel meeting on Thursday, December 5.

Mr Ridley is currently employed by Mr Hogg’s office but under the direction and control of Durham Constabulary’s chief constable.

From April 1, he will transfer to the employment of the chief constable but work for Mr Hogg through a service level agreement.

Mr Hogg said Mr Ridley had the experience and competencies needed and he was pleased at the appointment.

Mr Ridley said: “I am delighted to be given the opportunity to work with the PCC and his staff as part of helping to deliver the PCC’s police and crime plan.”
