Dragons' Den entrepreneur Duncan Bannatyne was taken to hospital following a dizzy spell today (Tuesday, December 10).

The successful businessman who runs a chain of gyms and hotels tweeted a picture of himself at North Tees General Hospital in Stockton, wearing a woolly hat.

After receiving treatment he said on Twitter: ''Many thanks to North Tees Hospital for looking after me today.''

Mr Bannatyne, the tough-talking business angel on the BBC show, was allowed home after he underwent tests.

A spokeswoman for the TV personality said: ''He was taken to hospital following a dizzy spell and they have checked him over.

''He praised the hospital staff and he expects to be at his desk in the morning.''

Last year the 64-year-old was rushed to hospital following a heart scare.

After an acrimonious divorce, he is selling his home on the exclusive Wynyard estate between Billingham and Stockton.

I bet he couldn't say 'I'm out' fast enough. It's not a hospital I'd want to be treated in.

Is this really newsworthy? Him putting it on his own personal twitter feed is one thing, but did it need to reach the Northern Echo? What next: Dragon Duncan Bannatyne has a headache! Or: Dragon Duncan Bannatyne has a bit of a cold and was seen sneezing!

No matter what people think of DB he provides employment opportunity's and he's keeping a profile for the region.

And I have to agree over the last two years both myself and daughter have been treated by the emergency team at North Tees and they were fantastic!
