FUNDRAISERS are aiming to raise more than £1,000 by arranging for Santa to visit children near their homes.
Members of Thirsk Rotary Club, which has raised £2,179 from the event over the past two years, will help Santa to visit Thirsk, Norby, Sowerby and Carlton Miniott in a buggy over the next two weeks.
He will go to East Thirsk on Sunday, (December 15), from 3pm to 6 pm and on West Thirsk, Carlton Miniott and Admirals Court on Monday (December 16), from 5pm to 8pm.
On Sunday, December 22, Santa will visit Sowerby, from 3pm to 6pm.
A rotary club spokesman said: “We have used donations from this event to help fund amongst others the Endeavour Awards to all the local schools, costs of the Guy Fawkes Night fireworks display, support for the Community care Association work, helping young people with equipment for their courses; and the East Thirsk Community Christmas dinner last year.
“Rotary couldn’t do this without the generosity everyone shows and thanks especially go to Thirsk in Bloom, which provides the buggy for Santa.”
