FOOTBALL fans are being urged to donate tins of food to help feed the needy.
Darlington FC supporters have been asked to bring tins of food when the team plays Bamber Bridge on Saturday, December 14 at Heritage Park.
The food will be given to The Food Store at King’s Church, in conjunction with Darlington Churches Together, a community project to help those who have found themselves unable to provide food for themselves or their families.
More than 900 items were handed in at the club’s first food bank day in April.
The club has also announced the launch of its 2014 calendar, which includes a mixture of photographs of fans and match action shots, which will go on sale at Saturday’s game for £8.
This year’s calendar is a limited edition and every copy will be signed by the entire first team squad and management team.
Any calendars which are not sold on Saturday will go on sale in Quaker Retail in Darlington Covered Market.
