POLICE have issued an e-fit of a suspect they want to trace after a householder was hurt in a confrontation with an intruder.

The householder suffered two broken ribs during the incident in the back garden of his home on Horseman Lane, Copmanthorpe, near York, at around 9am last Friday.

Since an earlier public appeal officers have received a number of calls with information and are hopeful that the E-Fit will further jog people’s memories.

The suspect is in is late teens or early 20s, around 5ft 10in tall, with a stocky build, dark hair and a distinctive mono-brow. He was wearing a dark grey hooded-top, jeans and white trainers.

Detective Constable Kevin Goodman said: “If you recognise the man in the image, I urge you to contact the police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.

“I would also like to remind residents to remain vigilant at this time and report any suspicious behaviour to the police.”
