A CAMPAIGN to match up potential volunteers with voluntary work that suits them is running in North Yorkshire.

Northallerton Volunteer Centre will be running regular pop-up information sessions on the second Saturday of each month.

Its members will be based at Northallerton Library and will help match up people’s skills and available time with volunteering opportunities.

The centre has links with more than 100 voluntary and community organisations in Northallerton and Bedale and can offer advice and support to residents interested in taking up those opportunities. The sessions also offer the chance for organisations needing volunteers to advertise the roles available.

The next session takes place at Northallerton Library on Saturday, December 14 from 10am until noon. Lizzie Clapham from Northallerton Volunteer Centre said: “Volunteering is a great way to meet and help others, gain a sense of satisfaction and make a real difference. It can also offer a stepping stone into employment. There are a wide range of volunteer opportunities available from helping with one-off events to offering regular support.”

Details will be available in Northallerton Library and from Northallerton Volunteer Centre, which can be contacted at: 01609-780458 or by emailing; volunteer.centre@ndvsa.org.uk
