BUDDING writers are being invited to get their creative juices flowing at a special writing day where they can compose their own seasonal short stories.

Author, storyteller and writing lecturer Irene Lofthouse will host the Yuletide Yarns event, at the Dales Countryside Museum, in Hawes.

Irene, a heritage interpreter who appears at literature and storytelling festivals in and around the Dales, said: “The museum site is an evocative place, there’s a lot to stimulate the imagination.

“Stories could evolve from the surroundings, heritage and history, be for friends or feature a family member.

“It’s a chance to produce a unique Christmas present, a party piece or one for further development. Stories may feature, if writers agree, on the museum’s website.”
