PANTO characters are coming out of the wings to raise money for charity.

The cast and crew of Aladdin, the pantomime being staged at Darlington Civic Theatre this season, will hold bucket collections at the end of each performance.

Audiences fresh from being entertained by The Chuckle Brothers and Phil Corbitt will be invited to make a contribution to support local charity St Teresa’s Hospice.

The stars are hoping to beat last year’s total, where collections held at four performances raised £906.39 for the charity.

Panto dame Philip Meeks is hoping to raise even more for St Teresa’s when he participates in Darlington’s Santa Run, taking place tomorrow (Saturday December 7).

Aladdin runs at the Civic Theatre from Saturday, December 7 until Sunday, January 12.
