FIREFIGHTERS from Bishop Auckland were called to a kitchen blaze at a farm on Mickleton Moor, near Middleton-in-Teesdale today (Thursday, December 5).
The alarm was raised just after 12.30pm and officers wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel to extinguish the fire.
An appliance from Barnard Castle was also called to attend, but returned to the station after being told it was not needed.
A spokesman for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said no-one was hurt and damage was minimal.
