Redcar Boxing Day Dip numbers about to overflow

Plucky Boxing Day dippers are being urged to register as soon as possible for the annual Redcar dunking in the bracing North Sea as the maximum number of participants is rapidly nearing its limit of 600.

SMOGGY FOG: A former member of iconic North-East band, Lindisfarne, will be performing at Middlesbrough Town Hall, on Sunday, December 15, at 7.30pm. Ray Jackson will take to the stage to recreate legendary songs including Lady Eleanor, Meet Me On The Corner, Run For Home and of course Fog On The Tyne, accompanied by a five-piece band. VICTORIAN CHRISTMAS: A free shuttle bus will be in operation this weekend to ensure a community event is not affected by the closure of a bridge and car park. It will run to the Victorian Christmas event being held at Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum, Skinningrove, east Cleveland, from parking at St Helen’s Church, Carlin How. The bus will operate from 9.45am on Saturday and Sunday to the festive fair at the museum being held from 10am to 3pm. The bridge was damaged in floods in September.
TORTURE SHOW: An exhibition at the Dorman Museum, Instruments of Medieval Torture, will come to end on December 31. The museum on Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough is open Tuesdays to Sundays from 9.30am to 4.30pm. Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
VINTAGE FAIR: ‘For the love of’ vintage handmade and gift fair is being held at Saltburn Arts Village Hall on Albion Terrace, Saltburn, from 10am to 3pm on Saturday, December 14. Entry costs £1.
