City leaders in York have approved £10m in funding for a new bridge allowing the key “teardrop” site behind the city’s railway station to finally be developed. The money will pay for an access route opening up the York Central site – ultimately earmarked for 1,083 new homes as well as offices, restaurants, shops and a hotel.
Pub plan: A village pub could be turned into housing. Hambleton planninning officials are backing proposals to turn the Three Tuns at Raskelf, near Easingwold, into a four-bedroom house and build two other homes in its car park.
