PET shop owners have held a Christmas competition to give pupils the chance to compete for best window design.
Wensleydale School and Sixth Form took on the tradition of decorating Leyburn Pet Shop’s Christmas window this year after Adam Lobley, the son of shopkeepers Neil and Elizabeth Lobley, began attending the secondary school.
The winner for the main window was an advent calendar with prizes inside each numbered box - created by pupils Amy Leathley, Louis Dinsdale, Will Jones, Poppy Roberts, Chloe Calvert and Ethan Scarr.
The side window design is the image of Father Christmas riding his sleigh across a village with a large moon designed and painted by Kai Newton.
Mrs Lobley said: “Christmas comes early to shopkeepers. There were some superb entries. I was very impressed with their attitudes and couldn’t have asked for more from them. I am delighted with this year’s window and hope our customers will be equally as enthralled.”
