Santa charity fun run for British Heart Foundation
1:45pm Thursday 31st October 2013 in News
ORGANISERS of a charity walk and fun run are appealing to people of Richmondshire to don a Santa suit and take part to raise funds for British Heart Foundation.
The Richmond Chase the Pud race will take place on Saturday, December 7 at 9am from Richmond Swimming Pool and will support people suffering from heart-related diseases.
The event, organised by Richmond and Area Fundraising Committee of BHF and Richmondshire Leisure Trust, allows people to choose between a walk or run of one, three, or six miles along the disused railway track in festive fancy dress.
Maureen Gibbon, BHF Richmond chairman, said: “We are delighted to launch the Richmond Chase the Pud challenge in support of the BHF, to raise as much money as possible to help people with heart disease, including the many living with this devastating illness in North Yorkshire.
“Last year 250 people donned Santa suits or festive fancy dress for this event and together we raised more than £3,000 to help heart patients.
“Together we can make a difference but we can’t do it without you.”
Entry for Richmond Chase the Pud is £10 for adults and young people aged 14 and over, with advanced registration closing on Monday, December 2 . Children under 14 can enter for free if in fancy dress and accompanied by a paying adult. For more information and to register phone 0121-661-5161 or visit bhf.org.uk/richmondsanta.
