Daredevil barber has raised £1,500 for charity with skydive

A DAREDEVIL barber has raised about £1,500 for a breast cancer charity after dying his hair pink and braving a tandem skydive.
Trevor Walker, 27, from Northallerton, hurled himself out of an aircraft at Shotton airfield, near Peterlee, earlier this month in a bid to bring in the cash for Breast Cancer Campaign – and beat his fundraising target of £395 in spectacular style.
Mr Walker, who is a barber in Northallerton shop the Barber’s Chair, also dyed his hair pink before the dive in support of the charity’s colours for its awareness month.
He said: “I have been fundraising for the charity since my nan died nine years ago and have done the Great North Run ten times.
“But this year I wanted to do something different so I thought I’d give skydiving a go – it was amazing, but difficult to put into words how it felt.”
Mr Walker, who shaved off his pink hair after the skydive, said he wanted to thank his generous customers who donated much of the cash, and to Hair Secrets in Northallerton who dyed his hair for free.
Mr Walker’s fundraising website is still open for donations at www.doitforcharity.com/trev.
