A TEENAGER has won a place in the regional finals of a national singing contest for the second time.
Oliver Patterson, from Darlington, who uses the stage name Oli Patto, will perform at the North-East final of the Open Mic UK competition at the Tyne Theatre, Newcastle, after impressing the judges with his initial audition.
The 18-year-old, who recently completed his A-Levels at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College, will perform a rock version of the Leonard Cohen classic Hallelujah in the 16-22 age category at the event on Sunday (November 3).
Oliver has become a regular performer at venues around Darlington and the North-East and is hoping to make it through to the national finals at the O2 Arena, in London, for the Open Mic competition.
