Rape counselling charity looks for female volunteers
2:25pm Tuesday 29th October 2013 in News
A CHARITY that provides counselling and support to victims of rape and sexual abuse is looking for volunteers.
The Rape and Sexual Abuse Counselling Centre (RSACC) provided by Darlington and County Durham Rape Crisis is a free and confidential service to women and girls who have experienced any form of sexual violence or domestic abuse.
The charity is recruiting female volunteers to take part in a training programme before offering counselling and support to those who contact the RSACC helpline.
There are also a small number of volunteer placements available for face to face counsellors who are working towards a degree or diploma qualification in counseling.
Volunteers must be willing to work in Darlington and in the charity’s satellite centres across County Durham.
A pre-training workshop will be held on January 11. For more information about volunteering contact Lynne or Joy on 01325-354119 or email email@example.com
