Family caravan park flying the flag for Teesdale in national outdoor awards
A FAMILY-RUN caravan park nestled in the heart of the picturesque Durham Dales is in the running for a prestigious national award.
Doe Park Caravan Park, near Cotherstone in Teesdale, is the only business in the North-East to be nominated in the Accommodation Provider of the Year category in the Great Outdoors Awards.
Stephen and Alison Lamb, the husband and wife team that run Doe Park, are absolutely delighted and are urging the public to support them in the online vote before Saturday, November 10.
The annual awards are run by the popular country pursuit magazine, The Great Outdoors, and celebrate the very best in rural retailers, clothing, footwear, pubs, camping gear and much more.
The accommodation provider category is always a closely fought contest and, for Mr and Mrs Lamb, it is an honour to even be nominated.
“We are particularly pleased because all the other nominees are located in places like the Lake District, Wales and the Highlands of Scotland, which are more recognised camping and walking destinations” said Mrs Lamb, 43.
“We are the only ones in the North-East and feel proud to be putting Teesdale on the map.”
The Lamb family opened Doe Park Caravan Park 30 years ago on their farm and can accommodate up to 70 touring caravans.
