Witness appeal following two car collision in Thornaby

A MAN has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of dangerous driving and fleeing the scene of an accident following a collision in which two people were taken to hospital.
The incident, involving a blue Ford Mondeo and a red Ford Fiesta happened on the northbound carriageway of the A19 towards the A1130 Mandale interchange at Thornaby, Stockton, on Friday, October 18, at about 8.35pm.
The male driver of the Mondeo and a female passenger travelling in the same vehicle were taken to the University Hospital of North Tees, Stockton. They were discharged following treatment for minor injuries.
A 38-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and failing to stop at the scene of a road traffic collision. He has been bailed pending further enquiries.
Prior to the collision it is believed that both vehicles travelled along the A174 westbound to the A19 and then both vehicles joined the A19 northbound.
