A THEATRE company is preparing for a tour of village halls in the region with an adaptation of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Lost World.
North Country Theatre, based in Richmond, North Yorkshire, will bring to life prehistoric monsters, ape men and madcap professors and take the audience from London to a lost plateau in the Amazonian jungle.
Director Nobby Dimon said: “This stage version has evolved from the original but still contains some prehistoric jokes.
"It was first performed back in 2000 but he decided to revive it as so many North Country supporters asked to see it again."
Three actors new to the company – Dominic Goodwin, Patrick Burton and Lawrence Aldridge - will be joining him in the four man show.
The Lost World opens at the Georgian Theatre Royal in Richmond on Wednesday, October 30 and Thursday, October 31 then tours the region, taking in more than 40 venues including Barnard Castle and Yarm, ending at Hutton Rudby on January 18 next year.
