Pupils get a taste of university life

A GROUP of Richmond School pupils have had a taste of the life of a university student.
Fifteen Year 10 students have taken part in the first residential summer school created from a newly formed partnership between Lancaster University and Richmond School.
The students spent the time sampling university life, taking part in lectures and getting involved in team building skills. Assistant head teacher Darren Cox, who organised the trip, said the students left Lancaster having made many new friends and a refreshed outlook on their studies and potential options for higher education.
He said: “All the students were enthused and now have a clear objective to aim for. “The Lancaster University staff were very complimentary of the Richmond School students and the feedback was outstanding from all the staff who worked with them during the time they were there.
“Once again Richmond School students have proved they are motivated and inspiring young people, it has been a pleasure to hear such positive comments from the staff at Lancaster.”
