RICHMONDSHIRE families are being invited to experience Gurkha culture.
The British Gurkha and Nepalese Community is holding its annual Diwali festival in Colburn next month - as part of their community integration programme.
The festival of lights is the most important festival and involves the lighting of small clay lamps filled with oil to signify the triumph of good over evil.
The BGNC received a grant of £1,900 from Richmondshire District Council to help host the festival as well as their Dashain Cultural Programme.
The event takes place in Colburn Village Hall on Sunday November 3 from 2pm to 11pm. Tickets are £6 to include a drink and a plate of traditional Gurka food. Under 10s are free.
