Chef Andrew Pern opens a new outlet in York
6:20pm Tuesday 22nd October 2013 in News
ONE of the region’s leading chefs has unveiled his latest venture.
Award-winning Andrew Pern, owner of the Star Inn at Harome, North Yorkshire, has renovated a former waterworks building in York’s Museum Gardens to create Star Inn The City.
Mr Pern’s gastropub near Helmsley has been highly acclaimed by the experts and in 2001 it was awarded a Michelin star.
He said: “It has always been a bit of a dream to open somewhere with more volume.
“We wanted to bring a bit of the countryside to the town, and that’s why we thought Museum Gardens was such a wonderful location as it is so tranquil and is like a patch of country in the city.
“We will be flying the flag for Yorkshire, using all local produce, with all the staff from the York area.
“The restaurant itself looks amazing and the whole team is really excited about the launch.”
