Thousands expected to flock to Countryside Live at Harrogate
7:40pm Friday 18th October 2013 in News
IT may be billed as the little sister of the Great Yorkshire Show – but Countryside Live is certainly not a poor relative.
Thousands of people are expected to flock through the gates of the Great Yorkshire Showground in Harrogate this weekend for the two-day event.
They will see everything from archery and chainsaw carving to the traditional competitive classes for cattle, sheep and horses.
And for the first time, the event will have an international flavour with horse shoeing experts from across Europe and also the USA competing for £25,000 worth of prizes.
Show director Bill Cowling said: “This will be our 11th Countryside Live and there’s no doubt it’s a firm favourite on the autumn calendar, particularly with families as well as anyone with an interest in rural life.”
Tickets are available at the gate – adults £10, children aged five to 18 £5 and family tickets for 2 adults and up to 2 children are £28. Children under 5 years are admitted free. Parking is free and extensive.
