Middlesbrough man fined for trying to grab notebook from parking attendant issuing a ticket
A MAN who tried to grab a notebook from a parking attendant issuing a penalty notice has been fined £100 by magistrates.
Lewis Purdie, 23, of Aldridge Road, Middlesbrough, did not attend court but magistrates in Darlington found the case against him proved today (Thursday, October 17).
Prosecutor Alan Davison said that Purdie tried to take the notebook from an attendant who was issuing his friend with a parking ticket at Darlington train station in March.
In interview Purdie said the incident was “just a bit of craic”.
In addition to the fine, magistrates ordered him to pay £60 in court charges for the offence of unacceptable behaviour on the railway.
