Unpaid work sentence handed to shaver thief
A SENTENCE of 80 hours unpaid work has been handed to a man who stole two shavers worth more than £500 from Boots.
Alexander Millar, 21, admitted the thefts when he appeared before Darlington Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, October 17).
The court heard he stole the electric shavers from the Boots on Northgate in Darlington in August and was later recognised on CCTV pictures.
In addition to the unpaid work, Millar, of Middleton One Row, Middleton St George, was ordered to pay £549.98 compensation to Boots.
The offence also put him in breach of a suspended prison sentence but magistrates chose to extend Millar’s supervision period by six months rather than activate it.
