Heroin addict stole trolley full of goods from Darlington Iceland
A HEROIN addict on methadone treatment stole a trolley full of goods from an Iceland supermarket, a court heard.
Michael York, 32, of Louisa Street, Darlington, pleaded guilty to shop theft when he appeared before Darlington Magistrates’ Court today (Thursday, October 17).
The court heard he stole the goods from the Darlington store in June and was later recognised on CCTV footage.
Mitigating, Stephen Andrews said York was making progress on his methadone treatment and had already been given a 12-month conditional discharge for two other thefts committed after the Iceland office.
Magistrates gave him a six-month conditional discharge and told him to pay a £15 victim surcharge.
