Archer's Ice Cream to bring welcome chill to bonfire night
AN ice cream parlour will bring a welcome chill to bonfire season this year.
Fireworks and sweet treats will be on offer at a fundraising event hosted by Archer’s Jersey Ice Cream in November.
The popular parlour, in Walworth Gate, near Darlington, will open late and allow families to enjoy ice cream, a barbeque and refreshments at a charity bonfire evening on Saturday November 2.
The event, which starts with bonfire lighting at 6.30pm, will raise funds for the Great North Air Ambulance Service (GNAAS).
Owner Sue Archer said: “We wanted to support the local community while helping a life-saving charity.
“There have been a few local displays cancelled in recent years, so we are hoping for a good turnout.
“It’s the first time we’ve held such an event but we are sure it will be a great success.”
Tickets for the event are now on sale. They cost £4 for adults, £2 for children or £10 for a family of four. Under-fives go free.
Tickets, which must be bought before Thursday October 31, are available from Archer’s by calling 01325 300336 or through the GNAAS website at greatnorthairambulance.co.uk/shop.
