Dragon Duncan breathed 'heart and soul' into fiery new book
DRAGON’S Den star Duncan Bannatyne put his ‘heart and soul’ into his latest book, he told fans at a signing event at a North-East shopping centre.
Just under 100 fans queued for a signed copy of the second volume of his memoirs ‘Riding the Storm – My Journey to the Brink and Back’ at WH Smith, in the Cornmill shopping centre, in Darlington, on Thursday (October 17).
The book tells of the Darlington-based entrepreneur’s professional and personal setbacks in recent years, including the break-up of his marriage to second wife Joanne.
Mr Bannatyne said he was pleased with how the book had sold so far, with 7,000 copies shifted in its first week on the shelves.
He said: “All my heart and soul is in that book, it is very, very open.”
The book also talks about problems with his Darlington-based business empire as a result of the 2008 financial crash and offers advice to would-be entrepreneurs.
Mr Bannatyne, 64, added that some of his former employees from his time running a nursing home business, were among those who queued to meet him.
